Solution: To eliminate apartment odors, an OdorFree unit is placed in the home for treatment while the space is unoccupied. The dial on the timer is set depending on the severity of the odors. Cabinet and closet doors are opened and the area is vacated for treatment. O3 fills the entire home, contacting all surfaces, penetrating fabrics and oxidizing odors at their source. The time for treatment will vary with the size of the apartment and how deeply entrenched the odors. So treatment may take as little as 2 or 3 hours for light odors, whereas heavy odors may take 48 hours or more.
Note: The fan on the thermostat for the air conditioner may be turned to the ON position to help circulate the O3 throughout and remove odors that build up inside the ductwork.

Most apartments will require longer treatment times, so an OdorFree model with a 12-Hour Timer is more convenient. This model has a variable ozone output control and a 60-Minute Timer that automatically turns the machine off when the treatment is completed. For deeply entrenched odors, there is also a “Hold” setting for treatment longer than 60 minutes until the machine is turned off manually. Complete with plates and filter for long-term use.
