The OdorFree ozone generator is an excellent skunk odor eliminator. Ozone goes directly to the source and will oxidize away the strong, unpleasant odors often left by skunks after they have sprayed an area.

 

Skunks are widely known for their strong unpleasant smell, even without releasing their overpowering spray. Dogs are notorious for getting sprayed outside, and then coming into the house, spreading the odor inside the building before the owner realizes the problem. Or a skunk may have found their way into your crawl space or other areas. Fortunately, the OdorFreeis able to successfully remove this pungent skunk smell at it's source.

O3 is very effective in removing skunk odors. The OdorFree will produce high ozone levels for shock treatment. As the entire space fills with ozone, every interior surface including floors, ceilings, closets, furniture and clothing gets treated. While ozone is not able to pass through solid walls, it goes where normal air can go, even down into cracks and crevices.

How to Treat Skunk Odors

Solution: To remove skunk odors, close off the area to be treated and place an OdorFree unit in the space, then vacate the area. The treatment time depends on the size of the space and how deeply entrenched the odor is. It can take less than an hour for small spaces with light odors but several hours or longer to remove heavy skunk odors . After treatment allow the O3 to dissipate for at least an hour prior to re-occupying space. In the event that the source of the skunk odor has not been completely eliminated, treatment may need to be repeated periodically to prevent return.

Note: The fan on the thermostat for the air conditioner may be turned to the ON setting to circulate the O3 and remove any musty smell that has built up inside the ductwork. For long term treatment it is recommended that one window be kept open about 2 inches to provide a constant source of oxygen to the unit for ozone creation
